VCYC Burgee

Vanuatu Cruising Yacht Club

Racing This Sunday

Good day,

VCYC Series 1. Dinghy Sailing Races

A quick reminder that the next two VCYC Series 1 dinghy sailing races (race 3 & 4) will be sailed this coming Sunday 30 August.

As always entry is free, the emphasis is on competitive fun and everybody is welcome.

The skippers briefing is scheduled for 2pm and the first race will start at 2.30pm.

As the best 4 out of 6 races will count toward the sailors final score sailors who missed the first two races last Sunday are still able to enter and win the series - so let's please get those boats in garages and gardens dusted down, back on the water and sailing!

Windguru Live Weather Station - Ifira Point

Anyone interested in knowing what the current wind speed in Port Vila harbour is may now view our brand new Wind Guru weather station live on the internet at

Key readings like wind speed, wind direction and temperature are updated live every minute on the minute 24/7 and you are also able to view detailed weather forecast, sea temperature and barometric pressure not just for Port Vila but anywhere else in the south Pacific.

Bart's Bash International Regatta

Bart's Bash International Regatta 2015 will be sailed / raced at a total of 340 venues in 47 countries, including Vanuatu on Sunday 20 September.

The VCYC Bart's Bash will include and be for both our cruising yachts and dinghy sailors.

All our sailors / members are reminded to please click here to enter online (it is free!) and for more information on this world record event.

I look forward to you joining us, on or off the water, at the new VCYC club premises and bar at the Port Vila Boatyard this weekend.

Wishing your fair winds and good sailing.
